Auto a guida autonoma: profili di responsabilità civile e prospettive di riforma.

Automated vehicles and self-driving cars will be available for sale within a few years and shall be able to move freely on roads and highways. Following the approval of the Smart Roads decree on 2018, testing of such new vehicles has been authorized in Italy as well, smart infrastructures being required for proper interconnection.
Some other countries (Germany, England, United States) have adopted, or are about to do so, certain rules to regulate insurance and civil liability profiles, related to the circulation of the new vehicles.
Therefore the question is which best solution could be chosen in order to adapt the existing legal framework or in order to radically amend the civil liability system for car circulation, considering the more and more marginal role of the driver and that of the owner and the more relevant role of the car manufacturer and that of the developer of self-driving cars software.
