Abstract:
Banlieue films are regularly included in french cinema. This article focuses
on appearance of urban linguistic phenomena in interactions represented in films. This
article investigates language practices of banlieue young girls in six movies that came
out between 2004 and 2014. It focuses on the transfer of linguistic traits considered
emblematic of youth languages into cinema.
