Technical and Economical Considerations About Wind Energy Exploitation in the Ligurian Area

New wind measurements in two AMIU stations near the Scarpino landfill are presented and elaborated in order to estimate the energy content of the wind stream there and to compare them with the available data concerning other Ligurian sites. Then the cost of wind energy in Italy is discussed taking into account the most recent developments. The economical return of a wind power station is estimated by calculating the energy output of widely diffused commercial turbines if installed in a Ligurian site quite rich of wind resource.
