abstract:
The present study examined the physical, developmental, and psychoso-cial transitions during adolescence accompanying choices about their own future and affect the ability to make their own decisions.
It is also presented the contribution made by the self-efficacy compo-nent to the study in academic achievement, followed by a brief review of problems in self-efficacy research. Finally, this study examined the role of supportive relationships with parents and teachers, related directly to out-comes on academic grades and career decidedness.
The results suggest the need of interventions in order to encourage ac-tions that individuals should take to promote desirable changes. These changes take place mostly within the family and in school, where children can find patterns and experiences appropriate to their successful perfor-mance: is essential to invest in family and school settings to assure each teenager in the full expression of his/its potential.
