Psoriasi ed ipertensione arteriosa essenziale:evidenza di una aumentata attivita' del sistema renina-renina-aldosterone nei pazienti psoriasi.

One-hundred-and-four patients, 52 with diffuse psoriasis and 52 with skin unrelated to' metabolic defects were studied. The psoriatic patients had a high prevale ce of diabetes (21.2%), ishaemic heart disease (23.1%) and hypertension (36.5%).The lipid and uric acid metabolic defects in the psoriatics were no different from those found in controls.40% psoriasi patients had high plasmare in attività and urinari aldosterone levels.It suggest that psoriatic mcroangiopathy may be' responsabile for activating the renin -angitensin-aldosterone system and that this, in turn, may determinerà the hypertension.Since a high plasma renin attività is present in manu normotensive psoriasi patients, the microangipathy could be' due to' local or generalized arteriolar constriction induce by the hyperangiotensinaemia.
