Il gallurese e la sua grafia. Da "lingua argine" a "lingua ponte" / Mura, Riccardo. - (2022), pp. 199-220.
abstract:
Gallurian, or Gallurese (gaddurésu or gaddhurésu) is a South Romance language spoken in the north of Sardinia. It shares many of its characteristics with the Sardinian language and several others with the Corsican language and the Italian language. The No. 22/2018 law of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia promotes the standardization of Gallurese and others of the island’s minority languages. The aim of this essay is to offer a contribution to the standardization process by analyzing the main orthographic proposals presented in recent years. In addition to discussing the explicit proposals of convention, we shall also analyze the implicit ones, drawing them from various lexicographic and grammatical works published from 1969 to 2021 and highlighting their discontinuities and critical aspects. At the end of this overview, we will suggest a larger comparison with the orthographic proposals presented for the Sardinian language. We will also advance some possible graphematic solutions to the critical aspects of traditional orthography.
