Tutela e valorizzazione degli ambienti carsici dell’Area Marina Protetta di Capo Caccia–Isola Piana: La grotta verde di Capo Caccia (Alghero, Sardegna nord-occidentale)

Recent researches carried out in the Porto Conte gulf by Capo Caccia-Isola Piana Sea Natural Reserve (Area Marina Protetta of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana), pointed out the degradation conditions of karst morphologies related to natural factors and the human activities. Karst forms are well exposed both in subaerial and submerged environment,offering a first order naturalistic and cultural patrimony visited by a large number of tourists. In order to decrease the impact of a large number of tourist in the nearly and famous Grotta di Nettuno, the Authors investigated some caves with touristic characteristics that necessitate poor maintenance works. The Grotta Verde cave, on account of speleological characters and archaeological remnants, represents a good example of alternative carsic site with touristic capability. The Grotta Verde cave is characterized by easy accesibility that favoured the realization of gemorphological to speleological itinerary.
