Insularità, accessibilità e sistema di trasporto. Il caso della Sardegna tra connessioni esterne e interne nel modello di sviluppo dei corridoi di trasporto

The paper focuses on the relationship between inner areas, trends in development and the role of the transportation system, at different scales, within the settlement of these phenomena. In particular, attention is turned to the relationship between internal areas and coastal areas or those with higher rates of development, between depopulation and laboratories of innovation, and the territorialization connections made possible by the development of the transportation and mobility system. The case study of the Region of Sardinia, between insularity and continental territorial connections, is analysed. It is characterized as an interesting laboratory for the observation of current generalized phenomena, such as the expansion of areas (and considerable population shares) with reduced accessibility, linked to a substantial peripherality with respect to the main national urban nodes and the network of transport connections, as well as depopulation and aging of the population. Based on these assumptions, the research aims to recall the model of development of transport networks along corridors and puts forward a methodological proposal for analysis, as well as for the implementation of development policies, aimed at a connection between maritime, tourist and coastal poles, and inland areas.
