Abstract:
The coastal territory, in recent years, appears in Sardinia as a place dedicated to the most important
interventions and regulations, that stress the attention on urban areas as the only transformable coastal
zones. Some regeneration projects related to urban waterfronts in Sardinian historical towns (Cagliari,
Alghero, Porto Torres, Olbia, la Maddalena), strongly related to tourism flows, from the viewpoint of urban
design seem affected by a sort of “Spanish influenza”, with the reproposition of models developed in the
Iberian peninsula or by Spanish architects; while from the viewpoint of urban policies they seem related not
only to “Pictures at an Exhibition”, but also to other themes about the Land “ownership” (or not).
