Abstract:
Slow tourism requires good practices aimed at both the conservation of biodiversity and the Genius Loci’s protection / enhancement, according to the relationship between territorial planning and sustainable development. In a Region like Sardinia (whose itineraries contribute to deseasonalization), routes provide a general exploration of the entire island. However, there is an exception, i.e., the north-western area, which includes the natural and historical-cultural capital of the Asinara National Park Vast Area. In line and continuation with our Parkway’s project, our work intends to return the first results of a system of integrated management of the Vast Area with other pivotal realities for heritage and landscape, outlining a mixed itinerary and a replicable model. The current project aims at restoring Sassari, the only Sardinian provincial capital currently lacking compelling storytelling, a suitable and effective destination image for a connection between the coast and inland areas.
