Una cooperativa casearia sarda: la Latteria sociale di Tempio Pausania (1951-1990)

In 1951, a dairy co-operative was built in Tempio Pausania (Sardinia, Italy), an unexpected fact considering the peculiar geographic-anthropic aspects of this territory. Dairies have existed since the end of the nineteenth century in Olbia, yet it is in Tempio Pausania, the apparently less suitable milieu, that one of the three dairy co-operatives in Gallura was founded and operated for about forty years. Also, in the light of a previously unexplored company documentation, the figure of the founder, the membership composition and the various phases of the lifecycle of this dairy, up to its dissolution, will be analysed.
