Here I propose the analysis of some grammatical phenomena about which a given belief on their behavior tends to get fossilized. Among these phenomena we will find the durative meaning of the imperfect, the referent’s uniqueness in the use of the definite article, the meaning of action in progress of the so-called progressive form. I will be using the principles of enunciative metaoperational grammar (Adamczewski 1978; Matte Bon 1992; Gagliardelli 1999), for the stipulation of a central operational value for each of these grammar forms as well as for the explanation of how their effects of meaning are obtained.
