Abstract:
Density, test diameter and biomass alParacentrotus lividuswere evaluated in 2 locations within a Sardinian MPA and in 2 adjacent locations impacted by both professional and recreational fisheries.
All the variables considered showed significantly higher values within the MPA than at controls, confirming that this species demonstrates a positive response to protection from fishing inside marine reserves.
