Aspetti del regime alimentare diLithognathus mormyrus(Linnaeus, 1758) nello stagno di Calich (Sardegna nord occidentale) = Observations on feeding habitus ofLithognathus mormyrus(Linnaeus, 1758) in the Calich Lagoon (North Western Sardinia)

Feeding habitus of the striped seabreamLithognathus mormyruswere investigated in the Calich lagoon
(NW Sardinia, Italy). The stomach contents of 128 adult specimens ( TL=J9.5±J.3 cm) collected in spring
and summer 1998 were examined. Benthic fauna such as Amphipoda, Mollusca and Polychaeta were the
main food items (33.2, 19.3 and 5% of the number of preys respectively), but a large amount of Chironomidae
larvae and detritus was also found (1/.6 and 30.6%). No dijJerences between the diet of 2 fish size
classes (20<TL≥20 cm) were observed.
