abstract:
Effects of CO2 and O2 availability during incubation phase
as well as influence of size and density of microporous
rubber sponge plugs closing thermoresistant substrato bags
on mycelium growth and basidiocarp production of
Pleurotus eryngii were studied. In bags where the accumulation of CO2 was lower and the concentration of O2 was higher both mycelium development and carpophore production were higher.
Plugs with the lowest density (18 kg/m3) were less suitable than those with higher density (40kg/m3), being considerably shrunken during sterilization. It was shown that the lesser level of CO2 during the incubation, the shorter and more complete is the substrate colonization and the higher the carpophore production.
