abstract:
My essay is focused on changes in school time in the Italian school from the 60s -70s of the XX century. The aim is to raise questions about the use of time in Italian education. The extension of the hours of attendance (Tempo pieno) in the seventies was not meant to be simply a change in the curriculum, but was con- ceived as a part of a wide programme of social reform that involved a concep- tion of school as a part of welfare policy. My article considers different ideas of temporality corresponding to different pedagogical approaches and three points of view: Lucio Lombardo Radice, Bruno Ciari and the 1968 movement.
