Alida Valli in "Edipo re". Residui, frammenti e profezie del materno

This essay analyzes the performance offered by Alida Valli in Edipo re (1967), where she plays a small but intense role, that of Merope, foster mother of the main character. The short fragment of the film is explored in the frame of the career of the diva as well as in the light of the strategies defined by Pier Paolo Pasolini in his work with professional performers.
