In this article the author discusses the inter-disciplinary relations between post-Medieval archaeology, ethno-archaeology and oral history and analyses this problem considering the extensive use that post-Medieval archaeology makes of non-archaeological sources. The contribution of oral history to the definition of interpretative models of the archaeological record is particularly identificable in the study of the process of formation of archaeological stratification and for the functional interpretation of the spaces. This connectio can be intensified and integrated with the instruments supplied by ethno-archaeology for the interpretation f the stratigraphic excavation.
