Territori-struttura come dispositivi generativi della città

The authors' interdisciplinary research investigates how a new urban design can generate new morphologies of the city, transforming marginal places into spaces of resistance and openness. Through the device of the territory-structure, they propose design hypotheses that pursue a dialogue between town planning and architecture. In the two case studies with different settlement density, the city of Oristano in Sardinia in the low settlement density area and the city of Tunis in the high population density area. The urban project creates new morphologies that enhance the public dimension of the city, placing fragile environmental spaces and structuring the urban form in relation to the dynamics of the environment and the historical settlement matrices of the places.
