The essay traces back the artistic career of Salvatore Fancello, who was a significant presence in XX Century Italian ceramics, and prematurely died in 1941. Through previously unknown artworks and documents, it explores the artist's relationship with the milieus of the Milanese rationalist culture of the Thirties, and examines the postwar reception of his work.
