This volume contains numerous re-edited studies by Bruno Luiselli, Professor Emeritus of Latin Literature at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome, in which he examines the extensive and complex historical-cultural story of interactions between the Roman and Barbarian worlds. Acute and specific investigations alongside contributions of broader scope evocatively reconstruct this process of conflict, interaction and integration between Roman tradition, Christianity and barbaritas, which determined the formation of western European culture.
