Today, the predominant concern in education research is about methods and their results, the data. In contrast, the discussion about the quality of research questions has been pushed into the background (see IJHE 1/2011) as well as - as David F. Labaree suggests in the form of theses - certain basic attitudes of researchers towards their research.
