abstract:
""The Maddalena Project attempted to verify information derived from archival research and local community reports through the employment of target dives. During the investigation, eight archaeologically significant sites dating from the Classical period (3rd century B.C.) to Modern times (19th century A.D.) were identified and documented. In addition to several scattered finds, six shipwrecks sites or ceramic concentrations have been identified as well as two harbour areas not previously documented. The information provides new insights on trading vectors through the Strait of Bonifacio, as well as internal routes within the Maddalena Archipelago. The value of the research, undertaken through the support and collaboration of various institutions, also extends to public outreach initiatives""
