Quale passato per il futuro dell'Unione Europea?

The European Union is facing the present world crisis with no vision that might enable it either to contribute to any overall solutions or to prevent its own decay. After growing outwards as a lucky combination of national responses to the early postwar order on a global scale, during the world crisis of the 1970s integrated Europe failed to take autonomous responsibility about its further evolution, due to Germnany's stubbornly anti-inflationist ideology and passive acceptance of American unilateral moves towards restoringa a dollar standard - and thereto related power politics. Most characters of the present situation should be traced back to that turning point. As a result, the Maastricht Union now has no conceptual devices to face the present world crisis. In order to break this stalemate, a resolute breakaway is needed from both scant-money ideologies and deference to the global financial business.
