The challenge of the European elections in Spain. Between autonomist claims and national governmental stability

This chapter analyzes the European elections held in Spain in 2024, considering not only the previous elections in 2019 and other elements of current events, such as the political-institutional framework and the role of independence parties in the formation of the Sánchez government, but also the essential features of the order and its development such as the elements that distinguish the Spanish parliamentary monarchy and type of state. In conclusion, the chapter analyzes the election campaign and competing political forces, election results and future scenarios.
