Nuovi documenti sull’architettura delle capanne nuragiche. La struttura 5 del villaggio di Iloi – Sedilo (OR)

The excavation at the Nuragic village of Iloi and especially of Hut 5 has produced interesting evidence on wall composition and roofing, providing important evidence to support the hypothesis of a corbelled roof. The analysis of the composition of walls has clarified the role of smaller blocks often found removed from their original context; these were usually conical or truncated-pyramid shaped. Thanks to their discovery “in situ” in the construction of some walls it seems likely that they served the function of closing the gaps between larger blocks.
