Mafiacraft: An Ethnography of Deadly Silence. Specifically, the essay aims to highlight the significance of "silence" and invisibility as a distinctive mode of existence for criminal or secret organizations. The issue of the power of organizations such as the mafia is, thus, linked to the problem
of "nonexistent objects," a concept introduced in philosophy by authors such as Meinong.
