Just ten kilometres from the Syrian border, the village of Za’atari in Jordan is home to the world’s second largest refugee camp. Emergency Architecture and Human Rights worked with the local community and the NGO Acting for Change Jordan to design an extension to the existing school as a means of offering displaced Syrian children and adults access to education.
