Anziani e trasmissione dei saperi: un ruolo attivo nelle politiche sociali / Deriu, Romina; Fadda, Antonio. - (2015), pp. 81-100.
abstract:
The condition of the elderly is determined by a mix of factors: physical, psychological, emotional, social, cultural, economic. All these factors, with the lifespan prolongation and improving the quality of life, have changed even the self-perception of the elderly, who feels uneasy not because of the no self-sufficiency or the disease, but of the lack of a social role. The discomfort of the elderly becomes at this point existential and the solution cannot be provided from classic patterns lib, lab or lib-lab. The solution must be sought by identifying areas that allow an active aging and provide to the elderly new opportunities for building a social role. The transmission of knowledge linked to traditional activities to the new generations allows the elderly to be an active subject of social policy, both because it can be a viable alternative to welfare policies, and because, with the preservation of traditional activities, can offer to youth new employment opportunities.
