Sicurezza e politiche sociali

The word “security” becomes in the last times a kind of “magic word”, capable to earn consents in every occasion.
In this work I propose to considerate the problem of the security from the point of view of the social policy, for three order of reasons. The first is that the security cannot be considerate only as absence of episodes of criminality, but as comprehensive security of the life quality. The second is the strong tie between the perception of an insecurity state and the financial resources for the protection from danger and risk. The third is connected to the own essence of social control and of the recovery of the culprit of crime: both social control and recovery cannot be effective if reduced at the only repression or confinement of the criminal. The problem of the re-insertion of the prisoner overcomes the restricted sphere of the detention and goes off the walls of the jail, becoming a social problem.
