Chapter
Publication Date:

Short description:
First record of Caulerpa taxifolia in Sardinia: implication for coastal conservation and management of protected areas / Cossu, Andrea Vito Luigi; G., Ceccherelli; D., Pala; F., Ragazzola. - (2004), pp. 183-185.
abstract:
We report the first record of Caulerpa taxifolia, a non indigenous green alga of tropical
origin, in the bay of Golfo Aranci, Sardinia - Italy. So far Sardinia and Corsica coastal
areas seemed not to be invaded by C. taxifolia. Although only few small patches have been
found, they may represent "irradiating spots" for future colonization in surrounding
areas.
