Nuraghes and lanscape planning: couppling viewshed analysis with complex network analysis

In this paper, the authors propose a general reflection on the relation between cultural goods and landscape and, particularly, on the hierarchical network of individual goods –i.e. the archaeological sites belonging to the Nuraghes ages in the plain of Pranemuru, in Sardinia. The relation between ancient landscape and local societies is studied by historical and GIS based analysis. In the analysis, the historical organization of the land and the relational system is hypothesised and verified. The overall objective of this paper is the construction of a knowledge base supporting the identification and development of policies for the recovery of the cultural endowment and for the construction of a network of identity goods in Sardinia.
