Appunti per una rilettura dell'urbanistica di Atri romana

Twenty years after the publication of my volume on the Hadria (nowadays Atri), first volume in the collection “Città Antiche in Italia”, I feel it might be useful to readdress some issues relating to the topography and town planning in the city during the Antiquity and the Middle Ages. New archaeological findings, new documents and, of course, different interpretations of the extant materials, mainly concerning the perimetre of the city, make a further study worthwhile. The comparison of an aerial photograph dated 1954 and a Cinquecento map add new elements for the study of the city area; but I shall also investigate other aspects of the history of Hadria, among which a new localization of its Forum.
