On last years sclerotium disease of pumpkin induced bySclerotium rolfsiiSacc. occurred very harmful on
summer crops in Sardinia (Italy). The disease symptoms and pathogen's characters are described. By artificial
infection tests the high virulence of the fungus on this cucurbit host has been pointed out.
After a review of physical, biological and chemical control means of last ten years, the Authors brielly report
about preliminary results of control trials with some fungicides.
