abstract:
Surviving forced migration in difficult access to welfare services: the health of women victims of trafficking. Abstract: This paper analyzes the health needs of women who have survived "trafficking" in forced migration, with the aim of identifying possible policy strategies to protect, in particular, mental health and maternity. The research question tends to explore their condition of multidimensional oppression, in the framework inspired by gender medicine and the narrative approach in the social and health field. The analysis of documentary sources and sector literature highlights how difficult access to welfare services is added to the inequalities of gender and ethnicity, due to operational gaps in taking care of them. The results highlight, on a cognitive level, the need to deal with people's life stories; on the operational level, the importance of the cross-cultural approach to gender and proximity interventions to give personalized answers in social and health services.
