Materialismo e idealismo nel pensiero di Georg Christoph Lichtenberg

The philosophy of Georg Christoph Lichtenberg, mostly exposed in a non-systematic form, is characterized by two main perspectives, which only apparently contradict each other: on the one hand materialism, for which thought is determined by the body; on the other, idealism, according to which the subjective dimension is cognitively untrascendable. Within the first perspective Lichtenberg joins Spinozism, within the second the Kantian theory of knowledge. The essay tries to show that the two perspectives coherently converge in a sort of materialistic idealism.
