Incisioni rupestri pre-protostoriche della Sardegna. Una ricerca in corso

The work here presented is the result of a research started at the beginning of 2018 and examines the Sardinia's aniconic engravings recorded on, besides rock outcrops, several monuments as stelae, menhirs, megalithic walls, nuraghes and giants' burials. In particular two case studies are here analyzed: the megalithic wall of Sa Mandra Manna in Tula (Sassari) and the engraved boulders located in the territory of Irgoli (Nuoro). Thanks to a first documentation and research work it was possible to contextualize chronologically these evidences due to both the stratigraphic data, as in Tula, and the technological analysis of the signs. Regarding the Irgoli boulders, a first analytic approach to the engravings seems to show that these are linked to the control of territory and routes, maybe in relation to the commercial traffic that connected the inland Sardinia with the coastal landings between the Eneolithic and the fist Iron Age.
