Il tempio di Nettuno a Thignica e la colonizzazione di Thugga e Thubusicum Bure sotto Gallieno / Ruggeri, Paola; Ganga, Salvatore. - 45:(2020), pp. 73-91.
abstract:
After the capture and imprisonment of Valerianus in the East, his son Gallienus and his wife Salonina implemented a policy of municipal promotions in the area between Thugga (promoted to colony in 261), Thibursicum Bure (colony in 264-5) and Thignica. Gallienus resumed the policy already implemented in this area, where large imperial properties were concentrated, by Septimius Severus. This policy was characterized by intense municipalization, colonization, support for the evergetism of local aristocracies and testifies to the vitality of Africa in the pe- riod of military anarchy.
