Sull'autore del commentario "In Rhetorica Ciceronis ad Herennium" (Venezia 1490): Girolamo Capiduro pseudonimo di Giorgio Valla?

In 1490 a Commentarium In Rhetorica ad Herennium, by the otherwise unknown scholar Gerolamo Capiduro, was published in Venice; this work had a great success and a number of reprints. By way of a careful analysis of the work, I mean to demonstrate that it actually reuses a commentary by Giorgio Valla, written when he was a teacher of Rhetoric in Pavia. Girolamo Capiduro is therefore a pseudonym that Giorgio Valla, then a teacher of Rhetoric at the Venetian School of San Marco, choosed to print his early commentary; by this work he tried to react to the school of thought that at that time started to question the Ciceronian authorship of the treatise.
