abstract:
Tuberculosis (TB) is an important clinical and public health problem caused by a bacterial infection. Tuberculides are skin lesions caused by hypersensitivity towards Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens. Cutaneous lesions are associated with a negative conventional microbiology (i.e., smear and culture), however, some authors described positive nucleic acid amplifi- cation techniques. Tuberculides can be lichen scrofulosorum (LS), papulonecrotic tuberculid (PNT), and erythema induratum of Bazin (EIB).
