Cartografia e turismo in aree rurali

The aim of this work is to treat the new role played by cartography
in the valorization, management and tourist use of territorial cultural
heritage in the digital era. Starting from the importance since
ever played by maps for the knowledge of cultural heritage, with
particular concern to archaeological and historical heritage or landscape,
here we want to deepen the function of cartography in tourist
development processes with a focus on the communicative aspects
connected with the diffusion of modern devices and apps. Particular
attention will be reserved to economically weak rural areas where it
will be interesting to see how cartography, both the traditional as that
disclosed through networks or social networks, is able to relate goods
and usability, territory and resources, supply and demand. In these areas
cartography allows to localize structures and services and represents
a fundamental element for the discovery of places and for the
activation of new local development processes.
