PHOTOLYSIS OF ACIFLUORFEN IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTION / Pusino, A., Gessa, C.. - In: PESTICIDE SCIENCE. - ISSN 0031-613X. - 32:1(1991), pp. 1-5. [10.1002/ps.2780320102]
abstract:
The photolysis of acifluorfen, sodium 5-[2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-phenoxy]-2-nitrobenzoate (I) in aqueous solution afforded only 2-chloro-1-(4-nitrophenoxy)-4-trifluoromethylbenzene (II) arising from photodecarboxylation. The reaction followed first-order kinetics, though the photo-reaction rate was solvent-dependent. A mechanism that accounts for the formation of the product is proposed.
