In chapter seven, “Second Lives/Second Chances: Promoting Social Inclusion,” Maria Lucia Piga examines the link between social and environmental problems in the context of participative social policies in Italy. She shows how social cooperatives, especially those that are involved in recycling, reclamation, and inclusive agriculture represent a symbiotic solution that fosters socio-environmental alliances.
