La scuola di Bianca Pitzorno. Le cronache della vita della classe della scuola San Giuseppe a Sassari (1950-1953)

This article attempts to compare private remembrances of childhood written by Bianca Pitzorno in her wellknown
novel Ascolta il mio cuore and the analysis of archival documents of the school she attended in Sassari.
In a broad sense, this case study indicates, the complex problems that historians have to face when they try
to use as a source the subjective memory of the pupils, quantitative and objective data and adult's expository
writing of events lived in the past.
