Abstract:
We used monoclonal antibodies to study the lymphocytic infiltrate in cutaneous, mucosal, and hepatic lesions in patients with lichen planus associated with chronic liver disease. The cutaneous and mucosal infiltrates appeared to consist of predominantly T helper-inducer cells; examination of liver specimens showed that the same T lymphocyte subset also predominated in the portal tracts as well as the hepatic parenchyma.
