Dal mare alla montagna: attività estrattive nella Sardinia romana

Despite the fragmentary nature of our information on mines, quarries and salt cultivation in Roman Sardinia between 200 BC – 700 AD, we can at least partially reconstruct the cultural and ideological framework within which the exploitation of these resources took place, the contribution of religion, identify the main and secondary actors of the entire process, define the chain of command and the regulatory apparatus that allowed the “low-cost” operation of a sector capable of guaranteeing evidently interesting profits.
