Il turismo tra tradizione, sostenibilità e innovazione nella Sardegna nord-occidentale / Sechi, Marina; Masia, S; Mazza, G; Scanu, G. - In: EURO-ASIA TOURISM STUDIES JOURNAL. - ISSN 2742-7579. - Vol. 3, Issue: Special Issue in Italian:(2021).
Abstract:
Tourism and geography seem to move along same lines as a result of the fact that tourism
and the transport, industrial, and craft activities that are associated to it are closely related
to geographic space. Furthermore, their development has an impact on construction for
holiday purposes by following a far-sighted perspective that is able to provide a welldeveloped
offer in line with an improvement of the quality of life that is obtained by means of
promoting areas traditionally centred on specific holiday assets, mostly based on seaside
resorts and activities. Technological and digital innovations have profoundly influenced
tourism by rendering destinations more competitive, smart and so functional to tourist and
citizen. The work aims to investigate and illustrate the milestones in the development of
tourism in the north-west of Sardinia by considering how the interaction between tradition
and innovation has impacted this area of the world, through a survey that, starting from the
birth and evolution of the tourism phenomenon in the North West of Sardinia, defines the
value of tourism dynamics and the territorial impacts of their seasonality, trying to detect the
role and importance that technological and digital innovation it could perform to make the
local offer more competitive in order to fill the gaps related to tourist seasonality.
