Ricerche sulla biologia diArbus unedoL. (Ericacee): ciclo di sviluppo

The present paper takes into consideration the cycle of development ofArbutus unedoL., with particular regard to the rhythm of flowering and frutification. The observations on the phenological and reproductive cycle indicate that the cycle of development ofArbutusmay be considered as two-year process: this time course is related to the long periods of quiescence characterizing the buds (5-6 months) with meristematic ovule in the inside and the fruits with ovule in zigote stage, and to the slow maturation of the fruit.
