This paper shortly describes Prof. Eugenio Fresi's scientific contribution related to a period during the which he often came to Sardinia. The main purposes and conclusions of his research are emphasized. Moreover, his activity as Scientific Director of "Consorzio Ricerche Sardegna" is exposed. It consisted in the development of a complex project called "Mariculture Project".
